Carven- A first year who has yet to discover her powers, she was initially tutored under Mauro, but an exchange led to her being taught by Cheri instead. Carven is incredibly shy, despite her large stature, and finds herself more relieved to be under Cheri's patient tutelage in the end. She doesn't know how to channel her own powers yet, but she has an unusual amount of magical reserves laying dormant, making her classes spread out around the basics. Her teachers are keen to discover her powers, but it usually results in making her nervous with performance anxiety.
Cheri- A friendly necromancer, who is able to revive bodies, but can never restore their souls. She's a very gentle person, but most people find her presence somewhat off putting. Cheri is able to see spirits, and, after witnessing a great tragedy when she was younger, can see the souls of students and teachers haunting the school. Unable to restore their lives, Cheri often feels like a failure, but hides her insecurities and instability behind a veil of cheer and quiet seriousness. She tends to be very motherly around her friends and peers, and she's also quick to defend or soothe them when they make mistakes, even to the point of coddling. Thiago is best friends with Cheri, and usually voices his frustrations about his flirtations with Jakob backfiring, entertaining Cheri greatly, since she loves romance.
Djuna- An incarnation of the moon, Mauro's lunar opposite, Djuna is still discovering and trying to harness his own powers, and figuring out the kind of mage he wants to be. He becomes Mauro's pupil, reluctantly admiring the grasp he has over his abilities, and the two end up slowly bonding despite their initial dislike of each other. Djuna often wanders the campus after curfew, and he becomes more active and restless with the full moon, turning his personality from uptight and snappy to being much more relaxed and amiable.
Jakob- A first year, born with the holy powers to become a paladin and cleanse the world of demons and greater spirits. Although he can exorcise undead and demons, he cannot actually see them unless he's wearing his glasses, which have been specially enchanted. He knows basic holy magics and some healing, and is currently learning swordplay. Jakob works hard to keep himself 'pure', but can take it a little too far, becoming easily put off when conversations become too lewd for him to handle. He secretly has a crush on Thiago, which Thiago delights in using to tease and embarrass him. Jakob can come comes off as intimidating, but is simply shy, and doesn't want to be pulled into a fight for his family's reputation. He doesn't have a tutor, preferring to spend his spare time studying in the library or sparring with his teachers.
Karrygha- A lazy student with a sleepy demeanor and a quiet personality. His magical ability is that of a fusion elemental, able to temporarily bond himself with monsters. The monsters themselves also desire to seek him out and fuse with him, as it means a great boost in power, although it usually ends in their death, as Karrygha is the dominant personality and ego; if they aren't strong enough, they won't survive the process. Karrygha finds no great joy in this, and wears charms and wards constantly to ward off beasts and creatures so he will not harm them. Vivenc was partnered with him as his tutor, but was so abhorred by his lazy attitude that he refused to work with him.
(Chauncey) Mauro- A 3rd year at the school and a very powerful embodiment of the sun, Mauro was given the sun's blessing and discovered his powers at a much younger age than Djuna, and now works to hone them, trying to curb his power to a controllable level. He hates his first name, and won't tell anyone what it is, which Sian holds over his head as she has known him for a long time. Mauro was originally Carven's tutor, but bargained to swap her for Cheri's pupil, Djuna. Fascinated with the lunar incarnation, who had not yet awakened his own powers, Mauro quickly became enamored with Djuna, much to their chagrin. His powers weaken with the setting sun, but he is far from defenseless at night.
Renata- Djuna's childhood friend and self proclaimed guardian, Renata holds the power to manipulate minerals and stone to her will. She and Djuna are close enough that people come to think of her as 'the stars to Djuna's moon'. The two are almost always seen together during school hours, whenever Renata can pull herself away from Sian's tutelage, and Djuna trusts only her with his worries. Renata wears several rings on her fingers embedded with different stones to alter as she wills, and trains herself to use them as weapons. She's very talented at diffusing arguments, but she has tics of her own that will set her off and have her attack relentlessly.
Sian- Her family is rumored to have void powers, and Sian can siphon energy from other magical sources to use as her own; specifically, from other students. She is the tutor to Renata, who looks up to her fiercely, admiring her headstrong attitude and disregard for authority. Sian is aware of Mauro's growing attentions to Djuna, and always takes the time to tease him for it, while seemingly being oblivious to Renata's own affections. She and Thiago are cousins, but Thiago's pride refused to allow her as his tutor, knowing she would talk down to him.
Thiago- A very haughty second year student, Thiago's powers are tied to siphoning power from other sources, much like Sian, his cousin. His magic is drawn from electricity static, however he has been able to harness power from WiFi reception. He is close friends with Cheri, who helps him obtain a power source by extracting energy from ghostly ectoplasm, which he gathers by working together with Jakob. The three of them usually take trips to abandoned areas to search for spirits, which Cheri extracts the ectoplasm from, and Jakob is able to practice his exorcisms.
Vivenc- He comes from a family of summoners, although he cannot summon the conventional monsters like most of them; he summons flora, rather than fauna. He is a diligent and intelligent student, but he has trouble keeping his emotions in check, and often blooms plants from himself by accident, a power which he still needs help controlling. He's incredibly picky about the company he keeps, which often ends only in isolation for Vivenc himself. Flora grows from any open wounds, helping to stem the blood flow, but in minor wounds they're usually an inconvenience and simply get pulled out. The flowers he sprouts also usually tend to coincide with his mood, akin to flower language, revealing his true feelings to people who can read it.
